Every business km is worth 73¢.

Are you logging all of them? MileMate records every drive automatically and keeps the mileage log the CRA expects, so tax time is one export, not a weekend of guesswork.

What's your driving worth?

Slide to the business kilometres you drive in a year.

$7,000

5,000 km × 73¢ + 5,000 km × 67¢

At the CRA's 2026 per-km allowance rates, which apply when your employer or your corporation reimburses you per kilometre. If you're self-employed, you deduct actual vehicle costs instead, and your log sets the business-use share. Confirm with your accountant.

Drive. It's logged on its own.

Activity recognition and GPS start recording the moment you begin driving and stop when you park. Route, distance, timestamps and start/end addresses are captured for you.

After each drive a notification lets you tag it Business, Personal or Commute with one tap. Commutes stay separate, because the CRA treats driving between home and your regular workplace as personal.

Each trip records the date, start and end location, distance, duration and vehicle, plus the business purpose you choose from quick presets or type yourself.

Edit a trip any time. Deleted trips go to a recoverable trash instead of disappearing.

Pick a month or the full year and export a clean PDF or a spreadsheet-ready CSV for your accountant. Business percentage and reimbursement totals are calculated for you.

Exports come with Premium, $1.99/month. The free plan shows the same monthly and annual summaries in the app.

If the CRA asks for your logbook, you'll have one

If your corporation reimburses you per kilometre, the CRA expects a log that backs it up. MileMate structures every record around what that log needs.

What the CRA asks for in a logbook

  • Date of each business trip. Recorded automatically.
  • Destination. Start and end addresses on every trip.
  • Purpose. Quick presets or your own words.
  • Kilometres driven. Measured by GPS, editable if needed.
  • Odometer at the start and end of the year. Save the starting reading with your vehicle, and note your year-end reading.

Keep one full year of logs and the CRA's simplified method lets you use a three-month sample in later years, as long as business use stays within 10% of that base year. CRA: Motor vehicle records

Your trips never touch our servers. We don't have any.

Location is used only to detect and record trips. There is no MileMate account and no MileMate cloud holding your routes.

  • Encrypted on device. Routes and mileage records live in an encrypted database on your Android phone.

What counts as a business trip?

Generally, driving to meet clients, visit job sites, pick up supplies, or travel between work locations. Driving between your home and your regular place of work is usually personal (commuting). Your accountant can confirm what counts in your situation.

Do I really need a logbook?

The CRA asks for a record of each business trip (date, destination, purpose and kilometres) to support vehicle expense claims and per-km allowances. After one full year, its simplified method lets you keep a three-month sample in later years, as long as business use stays within 10% of the base year.

Will it drain my battery?

MileMate uses Android's activity recognition to tell when you're driving. When your phone has been still for 15 minutes, it slows its location checks to once a minute. It tracks closely only while you drive, and eases off on low battery. Exempting MileMate from battery optimization (one tap in Settings) keeps detection reliable.

What if it misses a trip?

If a drive isn't detected (for example, your phone was off or location was turned off), add it manually in seconds with the date, time, vehicle and addresses.

What if I'm a passenger, or take the bus?

MileMate may still detect the ride. Tag it Personal, or delete it. Deleted trips go to a recoverable trash, so nothing is lost by mistake.

Can I switch from another mileage app?

There's no import yet. Start logging today, and add any earlier trips manually.

What happens if I cancel Premium?

Your trips stay on your phone. Exports, the second vehicle and Drive backup stop at the end of your billing period, and ads return. Cancel any time in Google Play Store → Subscriptions.

Is MileMate compliant with CRA guidelines?

MileMate logs the fields the CRA expects in a mileage record — date, origin, destination, business purpose, vehicle and distance — and applies the published per-kilometre rates. Always confirm with your accountant before filing.

How are the two-tier rates handled?

The app uses the 2026 rates for your province or territory: a higher rate for the first 5,000 km and a lower rate after. Your province is detected automatically and you can edit any rate in Settings.

Is my location data secure?

Trips are stored in an encrypted database on your phone. Nothing leaves the device unless you export a report or turn on backup to your own Google Drive, both part of Premium.

Do I need to create an account?

No. You can install MileMate and start tracking right away. Signing in with Google is only needed if you enable Drive backup.

What happens to my trips if I lose my phone?

On the free plan, trips are stored only on that phone, so a lost or reset phone means a lost log. Premium backs up to your own Google Drive and restores everything on a new phone.

Can I track more than one vehicle?

The free plan supports one vehicle. Premium adds a second, so you can keep a personal car and a corporate car in separate logs.

Which phones does it support?

Android 13 and newer, available now on Google Play. An iPhone app is coming soon.

Your next drive can log itself.

Install MileMate free, add your vehicle, and let the road write the record.

Personal tax returns are due April 30 each year. Every drive from today can be in the log.
